The World’s 8 Most Mysterious Locations

There are many things we now know and have discovered thanks to science and history. However, there are many other unexplained phenomena that can be classified as mysterious things in the world. The Earth is enormous, and we only know so much about its various regions. Aside from the destinations we are familiar with and have read about, there are many others that are unknown. These locations continue to catch the attention of leading scientists and historians.

We’ve all heard of the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, Area 51 in the United States, Stonehenge in England, Lonar Lake in India, and other places of thought and mystery. Others, however, are unknown to many of us. No, I’m not referring to the Hawkins Lab from Stranger Things, but there are places in real life that are far stranger than that.

So, after much digging and studying, here is my list of the world’s eight most mysterious places. Take a look and find some topics to discuss with your friends on a night out.

#1 Eternal Flame Falls in the USA

Eternal Flame Falls, located in Western New York, are one of the most mysterious things you’ll ever come across. Year round, regardless of season or wind speed, flames can be seen at the base of the waterfall. The base of the waterfall is said to emit natural gas, which keeps the flame burning. It also lightens at times but quickly returns to its original shape.

#2 Crooked Forest in Poland

Do you want to see trees that dance? Go to Poland! In this forest, there are 400 oddly shaped pine trees planted 80 years ago. Some claim that back then, people tried this new plantation technique and this was the result, while others believe it was caused by a storm. But no one really knows why or how!

#3 Nazca Lines in Peru

These incredible Pre-historic era lines can be found in Peru’s Nazca Desert. These are in the shape of animals and other random shapes that people have been trying to figure out for years, as well as how they have stayed in the desert for so long. This is one of the strangest things in South America, along with Machu Picchu.

#4 Island of Dolls in Mexico

This island near Mexico City has a number of dolls hanging from the tree. This scene is straight out of a horror film and has drawn tourists from all over the world. According to legend, a young woman drowned on this island, and the owner then placed the dolls to keep her away. The owner died in the same manner as this girl. Figure it out!

#5 Blood Falls in Antarctica

A blood red stream seeps through the bright white ice in the middle of the world’s coldest continent, where only glaciers and ice sheets can be found. Following extensive research, it was discovered that the color red oozes from this 2 million year old stream as a result of the airless lake’s high iron content and salinity.

#6 Birds Suicide in India

Many migratory birds are known to die during monsoon nights in Jatinga village in Assam. The birds commit mass suicide here, which is one of the most intriguing mysteries that has yet to be solved. The only findings so far are that the area’s decent or the bright lights of the village confuse the birds at night, causing mass hysteria and deaths.

#7 Door to Hell in Turkmenistan

A large chunk of ground fell in Turkmenistan in 1971 while engineers were drilling. To prevent the natural gas from escaping, a fire was lit in the hole, which is still burning decades later. This is the stuff that nightmares are made of!

#8 Kuldhara Village in India

This village is located after the Bhangargh Fort, which is well-known as a haunted location in Rajasthan. Some 200 years ago, the people of this village near Jaisalmer abruptly left, and no one knows why or where they went. The entire population vanished in an instant. They are said to have not only left, but also cursed the land and those who would stay there. But no one dared to stay, leaving a long stretch of abandoned houses, temples, and the entire civilization to rot. There are many mysterious places in India, but this one takes the cake in my opinion.
