hotel0guide conrad maldives

The Conrad Maldives Rangali Island is a Hilton resort that provides guests with a luxurious and picture-perfect experience. Although cash bookings at the Conrad Maldives can cost more than $1,600 per night, you can use Hilton Honors points to cover the cost of your stay.

If you’re thinking about staying at the resort or are simply curious about what this luxury property is like, this Conrad Maldives review has a lot of answers.

General information about the Conrad Maldives

conrad maldives

The Conrad Maldives is made up of two private islands: Rangali-Finolhu Island and Rangali Island for adults only. A stay at the Conrad Maldives can be booked using Hilton Honors points, with a standard room costing 120,000 points per night.

Although 120,000 points per night isn’t cheap, using your Hilton points for a stay at the Conrad Maldives has the advantage of the hotel considering its Water Villa, an overwater villa with sweeping views of the Indian Ocean, to be a standard room.

Location

conrad maldives rangali

The luxury resort is located in the Maldives, an Indian Ocean island nation. The hotel is about a 30-minute seaplane ride from Malé, the Maldives’ capital and home to the country’s main international airport.

Design

The resort is designed so that you can enjoy views of the stunning crystal-clear blue water that surrounds the resort almost everywhere you go, and you get your first taste of this in the welcome lounge when you arrive.

The entire resort, including the restaurants, was designed to be shoe-optional, which means you can walk around barefoot for the duration of your stay if you prefer.

Food and drink

During your stay, you can choose from more than ten different restaurants and bars, including:

The Koko Grill (offering ten-course Japanese dining).

Restaurant & Bar Vilu (offering Mediterranean-inspired cuisine).

The Cellar of Wine (the Maldives first underground wine cellar).

Before you book your stay, keep in mind that the resort’s food isn’t cheap – dinner at the Koko Grill, for example, will set you back at least $230 per person. However, Hilton Gold and Diamond members receive free breakfast at the resort, which can help you save money on food during your stay.

Accommodations

The Conrad Maldives provides luxurious accommodations, with guests having the option of staying on land, in overwater villas, or even underwater.

If you want to stay in an overwater villa, the Conrad Maldives has several options, including villas with a private pool or hot tub.

If you prefer to stay on land, you can book beach villas and beach suites, all of which have direct beach access and some even have private pools. The basic beach villa is over 1,600 square feet, giving you plenty of space to unwind after a long day of sunbathing.

The Muraka, the world’s first underwater hotel villa, is the most unique accommodation at the Conrad Maldives. The Muraka has three bedrooms (two above and one below the water), a 24-hour butler service, and an outdoor deck with a private infinity pool. The price tag, on the other hand, is not for the faint of heart — a stay at The Muraka can cost more than $10,000 per night.

Getting to the Conrad Maldives

Prepare for a long journey if you live in the United States. There are no direct flights from the United States, and a one-way journey can take up to 24 hours. Given the length of the flight, we recommend flying in first class if possible so that you arrive rested.

When you arrive at Malé’s international airport, you have two options for getting to the Conrad Maldives:

Taking a seaplane from the airport to the resort.

sea plane

Taking a domestic flight to a nearby island, followed by a boat ride from the domestic airport to the hotel.

Given that both options are the same price ($500 round-trip per adult), we recommend taking the direct seaplane if your flight schedule allows.

If you can find availability for a standard room, the Conrad Maldives is a stunning property in the Indian Ocean and a fantastic use of Hilton Honors points. Even if you can book the hotel for free using points, keep in mind the cost of flying (both to and within the Maldives) as well as the premium food costs that are difficult to avoid in such a remote location.
