Villa Vals in Switzerland

The ultimate hidden villa is hidden beneath the snow-capped mountains in the green meadows of the Swiss village of Vals. This house is flawlessly carved into the mountainside to preserve the natural surroundings. In Villa Vals can sleep up to ten people and is located within walking distance of Therme Vals, a hotel/spa complex built directly over the natural springs.

The viewing angle from Villa Vals is slightly angled due to the structure, providing visitors with a dramatic view of the mountains opposite the narrow valley. Almost everything in this place is underground, including the front door. The only way in is through a nearby barn, which leads to a 72-foot-long underground tunnel lit by skylights. This modern bunker has six rooms with wood paneling that make it feel warm even in the middle of the winter.

Each bedroom has a king-size bed and its own bathroom. The ground floor includes a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a library with views of the terrace. The entryway even has heated ski boot holders for easy drying and storage.

During the ski season, a free shuttle service stops at a lower road nearby. It transports guests to a ski area where, due to its remote location, long lines for lifts and slopes are uncommon. Snowboarding, sleigh rides, and long snowy hikes are also popular activities.
