Hidden Places Around the World
Our planet is a huge place; we just forget that when we plan our vacations, whether international or domestic. When it comes to vacation planning, there are numerous categories to consider, such as whether we want a cheap and affordable vacation or whether we want to visit famous tourist destinations, and so on. Perhaps only a few of us want to travel to remote locations around the world.
Transportation and communication are becoming more accessible and affordable to all. As a result, more locations around the world become accessible and gradually gain popularity among those who enjoy travel or prefer privacy during their vacation. It’s an honor to be able to travel to remote locations around the world and share my discoveries with others. If you like to travel and discover new places, here are some great destinations and hidden gems you should know about.
Manono, Samoa
Samoa, located in the South Pacific, is well-known for its natural beauty. Manono is one of the Samoan islands where there are no cars. In fact, electricity was only installed on the island in 2003. You can imagine how pure and virgin the island’s scenery is. To get to Manono, take a boat from Upolu, Samoa’s most populous island, which takes about 20 minutes. As background information, only a few tourists visit or stay overnight. If you choose to stay overnight, you can do so in simple villas run by local families. Each villa has a balcony with a stunning view of the blue lagoon. There isn’t much to do on the island, but you can walk around and stop to talk with the locals or find a private beach to swim at. Even if you are the only tourist on the island, no one will notice the difference.
Second Valley, South Australia
Most tourists will enjoy Australia’s rugged beaches, world-class fishing, by-the-sea lodges, and fresh gin. The Second Valley, on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia, is a more tranquil location. This location is only 90 minutes from Adelaide. There are numerous activities available on this island, including swimming on the beach, visiting the caravan park, snorkeling, and scuba diving. The best time to visit is in February.
Belleville, Paris
Some of you may associate Paris with the Eiffel Tower or shopping for branded items. However, Belleville is one of the busy Paris exceptions. This location was previously known as a hilltop village surrounded by wineries and farms. This location is considered to be under the radar. With the mural and mosaic terrace, Belleville has emerged as the city’s most artistic and happening neighborhood. This location is ideal for those who enjoy both art and travel.
Palau, Micronesia
There are approximately 500 islands in the Philippine Sea that can be a great getaway destination. Palau is an island 2200 kilometers north of Darwin. However, if this island were not isolated, it would be overrun with tourists from all over the world. The private beautiful beach and the wonderful greenery are the real reasons to fly half way around the world to visit this island. If you like coral, diving on this island can be a fantastic experience. Palau in Micronesia is a truly hidden gem for a fantastic vacation.
Frasers Hill, Malaysia
If you’re looking for a different vacation spot in Asia, Fraser Hills in Malaysia should be on your list. This location was once a colonial hill station, so it’s no surprise that it looks like something out of a Jane Austen novel. In each village square, you’ll find mock-Tudor bungalows, cream teas, Toby jugs, and even a red post box. You will only need to drive for about 2 hours from Kuala Lumpur to reach this hill. Perhaps the long drive from the city is what keeps visitors away. There isn’t much to do here except play golf and sip tea. If you’re looking for peace and quiet with beautiful scenery, this is the place to be.
