Lysevegen in Ryfylke is a popular tourist road with 27 hairpin curves that connects Lysebotn, the deepest part of Lysefjorden, to Sirdal.

The road was developed as a works road while the Tjodan hydroelectric power project was being built and was officially opened in 1984. Prior to then, boats were the sole regular means of connection between Lysebotn and the outside world.

The route from Lysebotn goes via a 1,100-metre tunnel before climbing the mountain via a sequence of 27 hairpin curves. The ygardstl panorama restaurant and the car park for the trek up to Kjerag are located at the summit of the ascent (640 meters).

The road’s highest point is near Andersvatn lake, at 950 meters above sea level.

From May until October/November (depending on snow conditions), the road is open. The Lysevegen is part of the well-known Suleskarroad, which connects Telemark to Stavanger through Setesdal and Sirdal.
