Why Emirates Palace Is the World’s Most Luxurious Hotel
This opulent, golden-hued hotel, which is situated in the center of Abu Dhabi, was created for royalty and offers views of the Arabian Gulf’s glistening waters. It is one of the most opulent accommodations in the Middle East and features a private beach with fine white sand as well as a marina. With a wide variety of international cuisines and coral rooms with views of the gardens and the green emirate, the location is the height of luxury. Get this: the hotel also features a plethora of fountains and pools, two luxurious spas, and more than 1,000 Swarovski crystal chandeliers!
Expect opulent, majestic decor, gold coin-shaped room keys, and a sizable luxury spa with 24-carat facials. Even the distinctive gold cappuccino and knowledgeable butlers that will serve you like royalty are available here.
An overview of the hotel’s past
This lavish five-star hotel cost $3 billion to build, took three years, 20,000 workers to construct, and opened its doors in 2005. The building was constructed to accommodate heads of state, nobility, and celebrities and is owned by the government of Abu Dhabi. Along with several tourists, Dwayne Johnson, Will Smith, and Orlando Bloom have all stayed here.
The hotel is quite large, even without the grounds; it has 394 opulent rooms, many dining options, tennis courts, and a sizable spa. The atrium with its dome covered with 22-carat gold leaf and embellished with 13 colors of marble imported from India, China, and Spain, along with the gold-bar vending machines and 1,002 Swarovski crystal chandeliers, is a true sight to behold.
How about the rooms?
Silky fabrics, chandeliers, and of course gold leaf are used to decorate each and every one of the rooms and suites. While Pearl apartments look out towards the sea, Coral rooms provide views of the courtyard. In the luxurious marble bathrooms, take advantage of complimentary butler service, a pillow menu, iPad control stations, and a whirlpool with a separate rain shower. It’s nice to have fresh flowers and Amouage products, especially the eye gels that are placed on the pillow at bedtime.
The cuisine, what about it?
Our favorite place is the Mezlai restaurant, which was created to resemble a hybrid of a royal mansion and a Bedouin tent. The room is decorated in crimson velvet with brass chandeliers and polished oak furnishings to match its opulent surroundings. Traditional Middle Eastern cuisine is available on the menu, prepared with regional ingredients including za’atar, saffron, and rosewater.
There are a ton of additional places to select from, such as the BBQ Al Qasr by the sea, the Asian restaurant chain Hakkasan, and the Cascades beach club by the pool. La Vendôme, an all-day restaurant, serves breakfast, and Martabaan is where you can have top-notch Indian food. The 24-carat-gold camel burger, which is also offered for room service, must be tried before leaving.
What kind of wellness options are available?
Without opulent wellness amenities, a palace wouldn’t be considered legitimate, and the Emirates Palace Spa excels at reestablishing equilibrium and tranquility. An authentic Moroccan hammam with two whirlpools, steam rooms, an ice cave, and a great treatment menu of massages, body scrubs, and facials can be found within. The spa offers custom IV infusions to increase energy levels, fortify immunity, and internally hydrate the body in collaboration with the Elixir Clinic.
What distinguishes the Emirates Palace from other hotels?
This hotel is unlike any other in the UAE, or the entire world, for that matter, and it literally drips with gold. But what distinguishes it from the competition is definitely its size. Buckingham Palace is smaller than the huge property. The grounds total 222 acres (90 hectares) and feature 200 fountains, 8,000 trees, and a private heliport in addition to groomed gardens and pools covering 110 square meters (1,184 square feet) in the smallest unit. Another of the hotel’s main attractions is the huge, private beach with fine sand.
Getting there
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the Louvre Abu Dhabi are nearby attractions, while Emirates Palace is a 40-minute drive from Dubai International Airport. The hotel is located next to Qasr Al Watan and is accessible by foot from nearby accommodations, dining options, and retail centers (the presidential palace).
