Korchnoi Pasaribu discovered the enigmatic blue-eyed tribe on Buton Island, and his efforts have been lauded by networks.

A photographer managed to capture the incredible genetic mutations that are present in an ancient tribe settled on an Indonesian island as documentary proof of his expedition.

On September 17, the photographer Korchnoi Pasaribu decided to visit the island of Buton, where he discovered an ancient civilization distinguished by the incredible color of its eyes.

Pasaribu lived on Buton Island with tribe members, both young and old, who presumably have an inherited genetic mutation known as Waardenburg syndrome.

This mutation affects approximately 42,000 people worldwide.

Waardenburg syndrome causes different pigmentations in the eyes, hair, and skin, as well as deafness.

Blue eyes are unique and beautiful, as well as being my inspiration,” wrote the photographer.
