16 Instagrammable Spots in Dubai, UAE
Dubai is one of the most “instagrammable” cities in the world, with glittering skyscrapers and glimpses of an old world city. The city literally has it all: golden dunes, lapis lazuli waters, modern architecture, age-old souqs – you name it, Dubai has it. If you travel for the ‘gram (no judgement! ), here’s a list of everything you need to know before visiting these Instagrammable places in Dubai.
Burj Khalifa
The tallest building in the world obviously makes the list of the city’s most instagrammable spots. While the Burj Khalifa provides an incredible backdrop, the views from the top are equally (if not more) spectacular!
Burj Park
Burj Park, located at the base of the Burj Khalifa, is a tiny island accessible by foot bridges in Downtown Dubai. It is a local’s favorite for a leisure evening, with food truck festivals, art soirees, and many Instagram-worthy photo op backdrops. Cycling, boat rides across Burj Lake, and ramp walks along the Dubai Fountain Boardwalk are also options.
Sky Views Observatory Deck
The Sky Views Observatory Deck, the new kid on the block, is taking the internet by storm for all the right reasons. This Observatory, with its Glass slide and Sky Walk Dubai, is the ideal combination of views and adventure.
Madinat Jumeirah
Madinat Jumeirah is a destination unto itself, with ornate souqs, beachfront hotspots, palm-fringed waterways, and desert-colored hotels. This modern interpretation of a traditional Arab village is even more enchanting at night, when the Burj Al Arab serves as a backdrop. Find any nook and it will make it onto your Instagram feed.
The Lagoons, Dubai Creek Harbour
The iconic waterfront known as The Lagoons is located along the coast of Dubai Creek, 10 minutes from Downtown Dubai. This traditional waterfront destination is a vibrant neighborhood surrounded by lush greenery. An evening stroll along the sparkling creek with stunning sunset views is extremely relaxing. Remember to take pictures with the flamingos!
Imam Hussein Mosque
The Imam Hussein Mosque, one of Dubai’s lesser-known gems that is quickly gaining popularity among the city’s travel community, is the UAE’s only Iranian mosque with intricately designed Persian architecture. The mosque has a decorative façade made of azure blue faience tiles with intricate floral motifs. The mosque is a sight to behold, and it is instagram-worthy!
Non-Muslims are not permitted to enter the mosque, but they may observe it from the outside.
The Pointe
The Pointe Dubai, located at the tip of the world-famous Palm Jumeirah, is an iconic waterfront destination with over 80 spectacular restaurants, vibrant shopping outlets, and entertainment activities. The beach, the view of the Atlantis across the street, and the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood make for a fun day out at The Pointe.
Don’t miss the Palm Fountain show, which takes place every day after 6 p.m.
Wings of Mexico
If you’ve been to Downtown Dubai and don’t have a photo of yourself in front of Wings of Mexico, have you really been to Dubai? Jorge Marin, a Mexican artist, created this famous metal sculpture of angel wings in 2010. Wings of Mexico is perfectly placed against the Burj Khalifa backdrop, creating a stunning visual for a postcard-perfect shot.
Glow Garden Dubai
Every winter, Dubai Garden Glow transforms Zabeel Park into a magical glowing garden. Hundreds of artists, engineers, and technicians from all over the world collaborate to create the world’s most enchanting light sculptures. There’s a floating jellyfish, a glittering Burj Khalifa, and Cinderella’s glowing carriage made of 10 million energy-saving bulbs, miles of recycled luminous fabric, and 5000 tons of ice.
Global Village
Global Village is exactly what its name implies. A truly extravagant event with food, attractions, shopping opportunities, and much more. Global Village Dubai, which bills itself as the world’s largest tourism and leisure complex, features 27 pavilions representing more than 75 countries and cultures. If you want to see photos of Russia while in Dubai, you know where to go!
There are numerous Instagram-worthy spots in the African Pavilion.
View at the Palm
The Palm Tower on Palm Jumeirah is one of Dubai’s newest attractions, a captivating skyscraper that has earned the fitting moniker “the most spectacular palm tree in Dubai.” However, the tower’s observatory deck, The View at the Palm, is the cherry on top. The observatory deck, located on the 52nd floor, provides unparalleled views of the Palm Jumeirah.
The infinity pool on the 50th floor promises an unforgettable experience for avid swimmers: 200 meters of sparkling water with breathtaking views of Dubai.
Dubai Frame
Dubai Frame, the world’s largest frame, was created to “frame” Dubai’s transformation from a sleepy fishing village to the glittering cosmopolitan city it is today. You can see Dubai’s past, present, and future all at once from the top of Dubai Frame. The glass walkway here is a great photo opportunity, as is a selfie with the frame in “the frame.”
Bastakiya Quarter
The Al Fahidi Historical District, also known as Al Bastakiya, preserves memories of a time before Dubai became a glitzy and glamorous cosmopolitan. Art galleries, bougenville lined courtyards, quaint cafes, restored buildings with wind towers, and even the Dubai Museum can be found in this charming little neighborhood turned outdoor museum.
Al Awir Desert
Going on a desert safari is an absolute must when visiting Dubai. Camel rides, dune bashing, buggy rides, and sandboarding are all available. With all of these adventures, a camera roll full of photos is to be expected.
Hot Air Balloon Ride
While it’s not exactly Cappadocia, a hot air balloon ride in Dubai is out of this world. The views and feelings you experience while perched on this magical carpet are completely unique and will enchant you. From a height of 4000 feet, you can marvel at the vastness of the Arabian Desert – an endless ocean of sand dunes bathed in an amazing golden yellow light during sunrise. You can also see camels, gazelles, oryx, and other desert creatures roaming freely in their natural habitat. Is it Instagram-worthy? We believe so!
Madame Tussauds
Take a selfie with Audrey Hepburn, say hello to the Royal Family, and sing a song with Rihanna at Madame Tussauds Dubai. Unlike other museums, you are free to touch, hug, and take as many selfies as you want.
Madame Tussauds Dubai also has a modern photo booth where you can scan the QR code, take as many pictures as you want, and get a copy when you leave.
